Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026 · Version 1.0

This policy is drafted from the Build Me Knowledge Base's security and business principles. It should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer familiar with Ghanaian and applicable regional data-protection law before publishing to production.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, contact details, business information, and identity verification (KYC) documents — as well as information generated through your use of the platform, including project details, transaction records, messages, and ratings.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to operate the marketplace, process payments and escrow transactions, verify identity and business credentials, prevent fraud, provide customer support, and improve the platform. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

3. Financial & Wallet Data

Wallet balances, transaction history, and escrow records are stored securely and are append-only — historical entries are never altered. This data is used strictly for payment processing, reconciliation, dispute resolution, and applicable regulatory compliance.

4. Data Sharing

We share data with service providers necessary to operate the platform — including payment processing (Paystack), cloud infrastructure (Supabase), and mapping services (Google Maps Platform) — and with administrators where required for KYC review or dispute resolution.

5. Data Security

We apply least-privilege access, encrypted communications, role-based permissions, multi-factor authentication for administrators, audit logging, and rate limiting to protect your information. Security reviews are conducted before production releases.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, subject to our obligation to retain financial and transaction records for legal, audit, and dispute-resolution purposes.

7. Data Retention

We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements.

8. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated to users in advance of taking effect.
