Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026 · Version 1.0

These terms are drafted directly from the business rules in the Build Me Knowledge Base. They should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before publishing to production, particularly around liability, dispute resolution, and jurisdiction-specific consumer protection law.

1. Registration & Eligibility

Every user of Build Me — client, contractor, architect, engineer, quantity surveyor, supplier, equipment rental company, logistics provider, or administrator — must register an account. Contractors must complete identity verification before becoming eligible for paid work, and suppliers must verify business information before listing products.

2. Projects, Quotations & Contracts

Clients post projects; professionals submit quotations. Accepting a quotation generates a contract between the client and the professional. Build Me facilitates this process but is not a party to the underlying construction contract.

3. Wallet & Escrow

Funds are held across Available, Pending, Escrow, and Withdrawable balances. Client funds are placed into escrow upon contract execution and released to the contractor only after the client approves a completed milestone, except where a dispute process applies. Wallet balances will never go negative.

4. Fees

Build Me charges platform fees, commissions, and subscription fees as described on our Pricing page. Fees may be updated from time to time, with notice provided to affected users.

5. Disputes

If a client and professional disagree about the completion of a milestone, either party may raise a dispute. Standard fund release is paused while an administrator reviews the case and determines an appropriate resolution.

6. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not circumvent the platform's wallet and escrow system for payments related to projects sourced through Build Me, provide false verification information, or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity on the platform.

7. Limitation of Liability

Build Me provides the marketplace, wallet, and escrow infrastructure but is not responsible for the quality of construction work performed by independent professionals. Users are encouraged to review portfolios, ratings, and verification status before engaging a professional.

8. Termination

Build Me may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, provide fraudulent verification information, or pose a risk to other users of the platform.

9. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated as the platform evolves. Continued use of Build Me after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
